A two-year starter at defensive back for Widener (Pa.), T.J. Hess led the Pride to a 24-3 record, two Mid Atlantic Conference titles and an appearance in the Division III Semifinals in 2000. He set a school record for single-season tackles (130) and led the team in interceptions (4) that season. A two-time All-American, Hess was twice named the team’s most outstanding defensive back. Named the team-captain for the 2001 season, he received the C. Robert Chervanik Award for leadership and academics. An Academic All-American, Hess compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA. He is currently a staff accountant in the Philadelphia office of Ernst & Young, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services.
