A four-year starter at defensive back for College Football Hall of Fame coach Jim Tressel at Youngstown State, Anthony Pannunzio led the Penguins to a 30-18 record and a Division I-AA National Championship in 1997, starting all 15 games and recording 11 defended passes and 60 tackles. The team leader in interceptions in 1996 (3), he was a co-captain of the 1998 squad and a Second Team All-MVFC selection. A two-time First Team Academic All-American, Pannunzio compiled a 3.69 GPA in civil engineering and received the MVFC President’s Academic Excellence Award. He earned his MBA from Cleveland State (Ohio) in 2002 and is currently an engineer for Parella-Pannunzio, Inc., a construction company in Youngstown, Ohio.
