Compiling a 3.8 GPA in economics at Minnesota-Duluth, linebacker Stephen Blackmarr made the Dean’s List every semester and received the School of Business, Harry Oden and Raymond Darland All-American Scholarships. A four-time recipient of the Outstanding Minority Scholarship, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and ranked in the top five percent of his junior class. A four-year performer for the Bulldogs, Blackmarr led the team in sacks his senior season. He was active in the University’s Pre-Law Club and coordinated activities for the Economics Club. Blackmarr participated as an attorney on the Mock Trial team and donated time to teach reading to elementary school students and tutor students in the Athletic Academic Assistance Center.

After 16 years in the U.S. Marines, he was a staff project manager for Cymer, the leader in developing light sources used by chipmakers worldwide to pattern advanced semiconductor chips in San Diego. Blackmarr now serves as the Senior Program Manager for Amazon's Just Walk Out program, an initiative to allow shoppers to enter a store, grab what they'd like, and walk out without stopping for payment.
