Compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA in psychology at Montana, halfback Joshua Branen was a member of the Dean’s List every semester and was a two-time recipient of the Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award. He rushed for 803 yards as a junior in an offense that focused on passing, averaging 340 yards per game. Averaging 5.8 yards per carry, Branen was an Honorable Mention All-Big Sky selection and received the Terry Dillon Award as the team’s most outstanding back/receiver. He volunteered in the therapy department at the local community hospital and with the team Outreach Program. Branen received his master’s of education from Northern Arizona University and his Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Idaho. He is currently the CEO of BioTracking, a global innovator of diagnostic tools to help improve livestock health and production in Spokane, Wash.
