A four-year performer at running back for Kenyon College (Ohio), Derrick Johnson ranks fourth in school history in career rushing attempts (542), sixth in career rushing yards (2,149) and seventh in career rushing touchdowns (17). He set a school record with four rushing touchdowns in a single-game in 1996 which has been tied just three times since. Compiling a 3.3 GPA in molecular biology, Johnson was a three-year member of the Merit List. He went on to work at Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) conducting research in the area of Alzheimer's disease treatments at the cellular level.  Johnson earned his M.D. at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Johnson currently practices at General Medical Consultants in Columbus.
