A three-year starter at linebacker for Ohio State University, Greg Bellisari led the Buckeyes to a 31-7 record, a Big Ten title and a 20-17 victory over Arizona State in the 1997 Rose Bowl. The team leader in tackles in 1995 (98), he was named a co-captain of the team for the 1996 season. A two-time First Team Academic All-American and three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Bellisari compiled a 3.6 GPA in zoology and was named to the Dean’s List every semester. He was signed as a free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played two seasons in the NFL. Bellisari earned his M.D. from Ohio State and completed a sports medicine fellowship at OrthoCarolina (N.C.) He is currently an orthopedic surgeon in Ohio. Greg’s brother, Steve Bellisari, was a highly-talented quarterback at Ohio State from 1999-2001 and went on to play in the NFL and Arena Football League.
