A two-year starter at tight end for Texas, Pat Fitzgerald led the Longhorns to an 18-7-1 record, a SWC title and the first-ever Big 12 title, and appearances in the 1995 Sugar Bowl and 1997 Fiesta Bowl. A two-time All-American, he holds school records for single-game touchdown receptions (3) and single-season touchdown receptions (8) by a tight end. Fitzgerald caught 80 passes for 1,106 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career, all second among tight ends in Longhorn history. Compiling a 3.5 GPA in marketing, he was a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the SWC President’s List. After injuries forced him to leave Buffalo Bills training camp, Fitzgerald pursued a J.D. at his alma mater, graduating in 2002. He is currently a counsel for Cain & Skarnulis, PLLC, in Austin, Texas. In 2011, Fitzgerald was inducted into the University of Texas Longhorn Hall of Honor.
