A three-year starter at linebacker for Dartmouth, Josh Bloom helped the Big Green to a 19-11 record and an Ivy League title. The co-captain ranks fourth in school history in single-game tackles (26) and career tackles (354) and ninth in single-season tackles (130). Bloom made an impact on Dartmouth football all four years, taking home the Earl Hamilton Freshman Award as the most outstanding freshman, the Doten Award as the most outstanding sophomore, the Kenneth T. Young Award as the most outstanding junior defensive player and the Coach Bob Blackman Trophy as the team MVP his senior season. A Second Team Academic All-American and Academic All-Ivy League selection, he received the Dartmouth Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award and the Thompson Family Scholar Endowment. Bloom earned his M.D. and master’s in public health from Tulane University and completed a family practice residency and a sports medicine fellowship at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. He is currently a doctor at Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine in Cary, N.C., and serves as a team physician for USA Baseball, the Carolina Hurricanes and Cary High School.
