A three-year letterman at Navy, linebacker Theodore Dumbauld helped the Midshipmen to a 24-11 record and a 23-16 victory over BYU in the 1978 Holiday Bowl under College Football Hall of Fame head coach George Welsh. Named Navy’s most improved player in 1979, Dumbauld earned the Thompson Trophy as Navy’s most outstanding athlete. A two-time Academic All-American, he graduated in the top nine percent of his graduating class of 985, compiling a 3.54 GPA in systems engineering. Dumbauld made the Dean’s List five times and the Superintendent’s and Commandant’s list once.

He earned his master’s in finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983 and founded Trident Advisors, LLC, a financial planning firm, in 1996. Dumbauld also serves as the CEO of Simulyze, Inc., a pioneer and leader in the fusion, analysis and integration of structured and unstructured real time and geospatial data in the Washington, D.C., area.
