South Carolina’s team leader in passing yards in 1981 (1,221) and 1982 (725), quarterback Gordon Beckham completed 163-of-352 passes for 2,048 yards and 18 touchdowns along with four rushing touchdowns in his career as a Gamecock. In a 23-21 loss to Pacific in 1981, he threw the seventh longest passing touchdown in school history (83). Active in campus life as a member of the Student Alumni Association, Beckham also participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and ODK.

Beckham was the President and CEO of InfoSys McCamish Systems, LLC, a financial services outsourcing company based in Atlanta. Prior to joining McCamish, he was an international trade finance officer at the C&S National Bank of Atlanta. Beckham served on the board of Coach's Corner and the National Parkinson’s Foundation, and he was president of the HFM Foundation, Inc., formerly The McCamish Foundation, Inc. He is now the chair of the board of directors of the Parkinson's Foundation, a nonprofit making life better for people with Parkinson’s disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure.
