One of the best quarterbacks in Wabash College (Ind.) history, David Broecker set school records for single-season passing (1,743), career passing (4,894), career completion percentage (58.2), career passing efficiency (132.5) and career victories (34). The 1982 co-captain and team MVP, he led the team in passing yards in 1980 (799), 1981 (1,041) and 1982 (1,743) and in total offense in 1981 (1,473) and 1982 (2,172). A 1979 Honorable Mention All-American, Broecker achieved a 34-2-1 record as a starter, including a perfect 10-0 1982 season which ended with the Little Giants as No. 5 in the country. He completed 369-of-633 passes for 4,894 yards and 44 touchdowns in his career.

An Academic All-American, he graduated from Wabash with a bachelor’s in chemistry, mathematics and physics in 1983 and with a master’s in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1985. After receiving his MBA from the University of Chicago, Broecker spent more than 15 years as the CEO of various biopharmaceutical companies. He is currently the founder and principal of Indianapolis-based Legacy BioSciences Consulting, which provides executive leadership, strategic consulting and project management support to a limited number of innovative bio-pharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostic companies.
