Considered one of Holy Cross’ top all-time receivers, Mike Redding led the Crusaders in receptions in 1981 (31) and 1982 (33), accumulating 80 career catches for 987 yards and five touchdowns. Active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Big Brother program, he received the Connor Award, voted on by the team as the individual most proud of as a teammate. A Second Team Academic All-American, Redding maintained a 3.54 GPA in economics. After receiving his master’s in education from Brown, he took a job teaching social studies and coaching football at Mansfield High School (Mass.) Redding has been head football coach for the Hornets since 1988 and has a record of 223-71-3, making him the 13th-winningest coach in Massachusetts state history.
