Air Force’s team leader in punting from 1981-83, Jeff Kubiak played a key role in turning around a team that finished 2-9-1 in 1980 into the program’s first 10-win team in 1983. A Second Team All-WAC selection, he booted 173 punts for 6,970 yards (40.3 average) in his career. Kubiak helped the Falcons to an 18-7 record and victories in the 1982 Hall of Fame Bowl and the 1983 Independence Bowl in his final two seasons. A two-time Academic All-America and Academic All-WAC selection, he compiled a 3.78 GPA in international affairs and received the Air Force and WAC Scholar-Athlete Awards. Named Outstanding Freshman Cadet, Kubiak made the Superintendent’s List six times and was listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He earned a master’s in political science from the University of Wisconsin in 1985, a master’s in military arts and science from Air University (Ala.) in 1999 and a Ph.D. in international relations from Tufts University (Mass.) in 2010.  Kubiak is currently an assistant professor of social sciences at the U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (Kan.)
