A three-year starter at center for Air Force, Derek Brown’s efforts as the primary long snapper helped kicker Sean Pavlich and punter Jeff Kubiak to All-WAC selections. He helped the Falcons to a 29-7 record, a WAC title and victories in the 1983 and 1984 Independence Bowls and the 1985 Bluebonnet Bowl under College Football Hall of Fame head coach Fisher DeBerry. A member of the Dean’s List and Superintendent’s List every semester, Brown compiled a 3.45 GPA in social science. Brown earned his master’s in civil engineering in 1988 and is currently the Vice President at Kleinfelder, an engineering, construction management, design and environmental professional services firm.
