A three-year starter at defensive tackle for Penn, Tom Gilmore helped the Quakers to a 21-6-2 record and three consecutive Ivy League titles. The co-captain of the 1985 squad, he was named the team MVP. The team leader in sacks in 1983 (6) and 1984 (8), Gilmore was named the Penn’s top lineman in 1984 and ranks third in school history in career sacks (20). A three-team All-Ivy selection, he received the Asa S. Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League Defensive MVP. A member of the Sphinx Honor Society and Pi Mu Epsilon, Gilmore maintained a 3.4 GPA in computer mathematics. After one season with the British Columbia Lions of the CFL, he took a graduate assistant position at his alma mater. Gilmore served as the defensive line coach at Columbia from 1987-89, the offensive line coach at Penn from 1990-91 and a position coach and defensive coordinator at Dartmouth from 1992-99. After four seasons as the defensive coordinator for Lehigh, he took his first head coaching position at Holy Cross where he worked until he became the head coach of Lehigh in 2019.
