A two-year starter at defensive back for College Football Hall of Fame head coach Joe Paterno at Penn State, Lance Hamilton helped the Nittany Lions to a 17-6 record and a 1986 Orange Bowl appearance. Selected to participate in the East-West Shrine game, he received the Ridge Riley Award, which honors a senior member of the team for sportsmanship, scholarship, leadership and friendship. Compiling a 3.83 GPA in pre-law, he was a First Team Academic All-American and made the Dean’s List seven times. A member of the Pennsylvania Legal Society, Hamilton was involved in Cross Culture Dialogue and the Second Mile Fund Program. He earned his J.D. from Yale and is currently the deputy staff judge advocate for the 4th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.
