A four-year letterman at Wittenberg (Ohio), center Jeff Jump was a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection. Named the most improved player in 1984, he served as a co-captain in 1985. Jump helped the Tigers to an 8-2 record and an appearance in the Ohio Athletic Conference championship in 1983. Jump received his M.D. from Ohio State University in 1990 and completed an internship in family medicine at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C. Jump spent three years as an Undersea Medical Officer with Submarine Squadron 16, based in King’s Bay, Ga. In 1994, he left the Navy to become the medical director of the Appling County (Ga.) Hospital Emergency Department before moving to Chattanooga, Tenn., to complete his family medicine residency at Memorial Hospital. Jump is currently the medical director of the Center for Integrative Medicine in Chattanooga.
