Arguably the best wide receiver in Colgate history, Tom Stenglein holds school records for consecutive games of 100+ yards receiving (6), games of 100+ yards receiving in a season (7), career games of 100+ yards (13), yards per catch (17.6, min.100) and touchdown receptions per game (.9). A two-time First Team All-America and All-ECAC selection, he was the team leader in receiving (1,184), all-purpose yards (1,184) and scoring (66) in 1984 and in receiving (984) in 1985. Stenglein also set school records that have since been broken in career receptions (144), career receiving yards (2,532), single-season receptions (65) and single-season receiving yards (1,184). A First Team Academic All-American, he compiled a 3.26 GPA in economics and was a two-time recipient of the Richard F. Mangano Award as Colgate’s top scholar-athlete. In 1997, he was inducted into the Colgate Hall of Honor. Stenglein earned his MBA from the University of Rochester (N.Y.) and is currently the COO and CFO of Active Aero Group, a global logistics supply chain solutions provider in Detroit.
