A four-year starter on the USC offensive line, Jeff Bregel helped the Trojans to a 26-20-1 record, a Pac-10 title and a 1985 Rose Bowl victory. A co-captain of the 1986 squad, he was a two-time consensus First Team All-America and All-Pac-10 selection. The recipient of the Morris Trophy as the Pac-10 Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, Bregel played in the East-West Shrine Game and received the Theodore Gabrielson Award as the MVP of the USC-Notre Dame game. An Academic All-American, he maintained a 3.12 GPA and received the Football Alumni Club Award for the highest GPA on the team.
Bregel was selected in the second round (37th overall) of the 1987 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, playing three seasons with the 49ers, appearing on two Super Bowl champion teams. He is currently a sales and service representative for Courier-Messenger, Inc., an innovative delivery service based out of Santa Clarita, Calif. Bregel also operates football camps for young football players and runs a blog about training techniques for speed, strength, agility and football fundamentals.
