Captain of the 1986 Harvard football team, linebacker Scott Collins earned First Team All-Ivy League honors after leading the team with 71 tackles. Compiling a 3.75 GPA in economics, he won the Harvard College National Scholarship and the John Harvard Scholarship. Collins served as a volunteer at the Small Claims Advisory service and as a research assistant at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He earned his J.D. from Harvard and served in a variety of federal government positions in the White House and the Department of Justice before working as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company.

Collins joined Summit Partners in 1996 and managed the firm’s London office, which he founded in 2001. He was a Founding Trustee of the Private Equity Foundation, a leading venture philanthropy in the United Kingdom, dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged youth, and served on its Board from 2007-12. Collins is an avid cyclist and has been riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge to support cancer research since 1991. He now serves as the CEO of Summit Partners.
