An All-American defensive lineman at Tufts (Mass.), Robert Patz set school records for single-game sacks (6) and single-season sacks (12), a feat he accomplished twice. Awarded the Fish Ellis Award for achievement in academics and athletics, he was a member of the Dean’s List. Patz received his M.D. from Tufts in 1991 and completed his internship and residency at Boston University in 1996. After he completed a fellowship at the Orthopedic Research of Virginia in 1997, he spent two years with Cary Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialists in Cary, N.C. Patz is currently an orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Milton, Mass., and at Sports Medicine Associates/New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
