An All-American and All-North Central Conference selection in 1986, South Dakota defensive back Todd Salat intercepted seven passes that season, which ranks third in school history. He holds the school record for career interceptions (16). An Academic All-American and Academic All-North Central Conference selection, Salat graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geology and earned his master’s in geology from the University of Wyoming in 1989. Since 1997, he has been a freelance photographer and is a premier Aurora Borealis photographer in Alaska.
