A two-time All-SWC selection, Texas A&M safety Kip Corrington was the Aggies’ leader in interceptions in 1985 (5) and 1987 (3). He ranks eighth in school history in career interceptions (11) and 10th in career pass break-ups (27). A four-year letterman, Corrington helped Texas A&M to a 35-12 record, three consecutive SWC titles and victories in the 1986 and 1988 Cotton Bowls. A three-time Academic All-American and four-time Academic All-SWC selection, he compiled a 3.96 GPA in philosophy and was an eight-time winner of the Texas A&M Academic Achievement Award. Corrington was selected in the ninth round (223rd overall) of the 1988 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played two seasons with the Denver Broncos, appearing in Super Bowl XXIV. Corrington earned his M.D. from Texas A&M in 1999, and he completed his residency at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. He is currently a family practitioner at Novant Health Northwest Family Medicine in Oak Ridge, N.C.
