A co-captain of the 1987 Knox College (Ill.) team, Robert Monroe set nearly every passing and offensive record possible and still holds records for single-game passing yards (532), single-season games of 300+ yards (4), single-season passing yards per game (272.7), career passing attempts (918), career completions (452), career passing yards (6,404), career games of 300+ passing yards (8), career passing yards per game (200.1), career passing yards per attempt (6.98), single-game total offense (512), single-season total offense per game (272), career total offense (6,608) and career total-offense per game (206.5). The team leader in passing yards in 1985 (2,331) and 1986 (2,454), he was a First Team All-Midwest Conference selection in 1986. An Honorable Mention All-American, Monroe also led the Prairie Fire in total offense in 1985 (2,365), 1986 (2,454) and 1987 (1,286).
Monroe earned his MBA from Indiana University and currently manages the financial analysis department at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati. He was inducted into the Knox-Lombard Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998.
