A four-year return specialist and defensive back, Mike Diminick was the Duke team leader in punt return yards, pass breakups and total passes defended in 1986 and 1987. After recording 103 total tackles in 1986 he received the Mike Suglia Award as the most outstanding sophomore. A three-time Academic All-America and Academic All-ACC selection, Diminick compiled a 3.6 GPA as a pre-med student and made the Dean’s List all four years. He graduated magna cum laude from Duke in 1989 and earned his M.D. from the Harvard University Medical School in 1993. Diminick completed his internship at the New England Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and his residency at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He is currently a doctor at the Orthopedic Center of Central Virginia in Lynchburg, Va.
