A 1989 All-Big Sky offensive guard, Derrick Isackson earned a bachelor’s degree in social and criminal justice from Montana State and his J.D. from Gonzaga University. Skilled in protection, he was a police officer for 10 years with the City of Edmonds and Bellevue Police Departments in the state of Washington. In 2003, he was awarded the Bellevue Police Medal for actions he took in apprehending an armed robbery suspect with deadly force when the suspect attempted to fire upon pursuing officers. Isackson left law enforcement in 2006 and is currently a partner with the Seattle law firm Vick, Julius, McClure, P.S. He is the second vice president of the CivPol Alumni Association, a fraternal organization that facilitates the continuing bond between officers who have served their country through participation in overseas missions.
