An Honorable Mention All-American and three-time All-East selection, Rutgers offensive lineman Steve Tardy was a two-time recipient of the David Bender Trophy as the team’s most outstanding lineman. A Second Team Academic All-American, he compiled a 3.46 GPA in civil engineering and was a two-time recipient of the Upstream Award as a symbol for academic achievement. Tardy was a member of the National Honor Society, Tau Beta Phi and Cap and Skull. He received his master’s in geotechnical engineering from the University of California in 1992 and is currently a senior vice president for French and Parrello Associates, a multi-disciplinal geotechnical engineering and construction firm. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rutgers Football Hall of Fame.
