A four-year starter at quarterback for North Texas, Scott Davis ranks in the top-10 of virtually every offensive category in the school’s record book and is the only player in UNT history to lead the team in total offense all four years. The team leader in rushing in 1988 (439) and scoring in 1990 (72), he holds school records for career offensive plays (1,549), single-game rushing touchdowns (4) and career rushing yards by a quarterback (1,513). A two-time First Team All-Southland Conference selection, Davis was named the 1988 Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in total offense (2,848) and passing yards (2,409). He was also named the 1987 Southland Conference Freshman of the Year after throwing for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns. Davis finished his career with 519-of-922 passes completed for 6,923 yards and 41 touchdowns. He helped the Mean Green to a 26-20 record and two Division I-AA Playoff appearances. A three-time Academic All-Southland Conference selection, Davis maintained a 3.1 GPA.
