Linebacker Mark Katz graduated from Bowdoin (Maine) in 1991 with a bachelor’s in biochemistry and economics. He played for coach Howie Vandersea, the NFF’s Northeast Regional Coordinator and 2008 NFF Chapter Leadership Award recipient. He earned his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed his residency. After a fellowship at Duke University, Katz spent seven years as a hand and microvascular surgeon at The Hand Center of San Antonio. He is currently a hand and microvascular surgeon at the San Antonio Hand to Shoulder Orthopedic Center.
