A four-year letterman at tight end for Iowa State, Craig Mahoney caught 19 passes for 249 yards in his career. An Academic All-Big 8 selection, he compiled a 3.6 GPA in pre-med and made the Dean’s List five times. Mahoney was a member of Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Pi Mu, Phi Eta Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta. He earned his M.D. from the University of Iowa and completed his residency at the University of Nebraska. After a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, Mahoney joined Iowa Orthopedic Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
