A four-year letterman at quarterback under College Football Hall of Fame coach R.C. Slocum at Texas A&M, Lance Pavlas helped the Aggies to a 34-14-1 record, a SWC title and victories in the 1988 Cotton Bowl and 1990 Holiday Bowl. The team leader in passing and total offense in 1989, he ranks 10^th in career completion percentage (56.5); 13^th in career completions (248) and career attempts (439); 14^th in career passing yards (3,185) and career touchdown passes (20); 15^th in single-season completion percentage (59.0); and 19^th in career total offense (3,115). A three-time Academic All-SWC selection, Pavlas compiled a perfect 4.0 in sociology. He was elected to the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
