The MIT team leader in receiving in 1990 (334), 1991 (554) and 1992 (745), co-captain Roderick Tranum ranks third in career receiving yards per game (68), fourth in career receptions (118) and receiving yards (1,633), sixth in career touchdown receptions (10) and seventh in career yards per catch (13.84). An Honorable Mention All-American and Second Team All-ECAC selection in 1992, he was the team leader in all-purpose yards (745) and was an ECAC All-Star. Tranum set school records for single-season receptions (61) and longest touchdown reception (96). A three-time First Team All-Eastern Collegiate Football Conference selection, he ranks second in school history in single-season receiving yards (745) and single-season receiving yards per game (93.1).
A two-time Academic All-American, Tranum compiled a 4.0 GPA in electrical engineering and was named the 1992 Academic All-American of the Year. He served as president of Tau Beta Pi and treasurer of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Tranum earned a dual master’s in management and electrical engineering from MIT in 1995 and is currently an assistant vice president of reporting and analytics for AT&T in Atlanta. He is also the owner and president of pracTECHal, an online web development firm.
