A three-year letterman at center under College Football Hall of Fame head coach Don James at Washington, Jim Nevelle helped the Huskies to a 28-7 record, two Pac-10 titles and a 1991 National Championship after a 34-14 victory over Michigan in the Rose Bowl. The recipient of the John P. Angel Award as the team’s top lineman in 1992, he was named the co-captain of the 1993 squad and was selected to the Blue-Gray All-Star Game. A two-time Academic All-Pac-10 selection, Nevelle compiled a 3.2 GPA in mechanical engineering and received the 101 Club Scholarship Award as the team’s top scholar-athlete. He earned his master’s in technology management and is currently the president and CEO of Kathrein USA, Inc., a supplier of antenna and filter products for broadcast and communication applications.
