A co-captain of the 1993 Notre Dame football team, center Tim Ruddy was named a Second Team All-American by multiple sources. A two-year starter for College Football Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz, he led the Irish to a 21-2-1 record and victories in the 1993 and 1994 Cotton Bowls. A two-time First Team Academic All-American, Ruddy compiled a 3.8 GPA in mechanical engineering and received the Byron V. Kanaley Award as the school’s top senior scholar-athlete. He was selected in the second round (65th overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and started 140 games in 10 seasons with the Dolphins from 1994-2003. He spent most of his career anchoring an offensive line that helped Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino set numerous NFL passing records. In 2001, Ruddy was named to his first and only Pro Bowl. He was selected as one of the top 40 Miami Dolphin players of all time and was a Second Team Pennsylvania Football News All-Century Team selection. Ruddy is currently the director of Vista International Technologies, Inc., a leader in renewable energy technology and engineering.
