A four-year star at running back for St. John’s (N.Y.), Anthony Russo became just the 16th player in college football history to rush for 5,000 yards and is the school leader in career rushing yards (5,834), and touchdowns scored (59). He finished his career as the third all-time leading rusher in NCAA history.  A two-time First Team Academic All-American, Russo compiled a 3.44 GPA in history and made the Dean’s List five semesters. He served as his alma mater’s running backs coach for two seasons, and he taught and served as an assistant football coach at various schools in the New York City area. He is currently a physical education teacher and an assistant coach at Panther Valley High School in Lansford, Pa.
