A Burlington, Colo., native, Kenneth Ancell won three varsity letters playing center at the Colorado School of Mines, and he was named honorable mention all-conference. Compiling a 3.4 GPA, he was on the Dean’s honor roll five out of six semesters as a petroleum engineering major. Ancell was a member of the Scabbard & Blade honorary military fraternity, the Letterman’s “M” Club, the Tau Beta Phi honorary engineering fraternity and the Theta Tau honorary earth science fraternity. He was a sergeant major of the R.O.T.C. Battalion Staff.

Ancell serves was an executive vice president of Corporate Development of Santos TPY Corp. He has expertise in oil and gas recovery processes and more than 20 years of coalbed methane experience. Ancell also owns and operates Kenneth L. Ancell PE Inc., an engineering consulting firm, where he is a senior consultant. He served as a senior project advisor for the United Nations coalbed methane project in China, and he was a Distinguished Lecturer on coalbed methane reserves for the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
