A 6-foot, 205-pound halfback and fullback for the University of Kansas, Ronald Oelschlager was an important cog in Jack Mitchell’s Jayhawk team. He was a three-time Academic All-Big 8 selection and a member of the dean’s honor roll. His extracurricular activities included serving on the campus Chest committee and as a member of Young Republicans. Oelschlager ran for 570 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons at Kansas. He was selected in the 19^th round (145^th overall pick) of the 1965 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Oelschlager attended Kansas for medical school, and he has been a radiologist in Lawrence, Kan., for more than 40 years.
