A 6-foot, 205-pound halfback and fullback for the University of Kansas, Ronald Oelschlager was an important cog in Jack Mitchell’s Jayhawk team. He was a three-time Academic All-Big 8 selection and a member of the dean’s honor roll. His extracurricular activities included serving on the campus Chest committee and as a member of Young Republicans. Oelschlager ran for 570 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons at Kansas. He was selected in the 19th round (145th overall pick) of the 1965 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Oelschlager attended Kansas for medical school, and he has been a radiologist in Lawrence, Kan., for more than 40 years.
