Co-captain of the Wolfpack in 1967, Steve Warren played a vital role for a North Carolina State squad that reached as high as No. 3 in the AP Poll. The Wolfpack capped off a 9-2 season with a win over Georgia in the Liberty Bowl. A two-time Academic All-ACC selection, he was named the school’s outstanding junior in the School of Textile. A First Team Academic All-American, Warren appeared on the ACC Academic Honor Roll three straight seasons. He was also selected to participate in the Blue-Gray All-Star game.

Warren received his master’s in marketing and finance at North Carolina, and he spent three decades in the textile business, rising to president of Elastic Fabrics of America. During the last 30 years, his community endeavors have included serving as president of five civic organizations and chairing the Board of Deacons and as Clerk of The Session at First Presbyterian Church.
