A 185-pound halfback at Mississippi, Stephen Hindman led the SEC in both rushing attempts (215) and yards (829) as a junior in 1967, earning Second Team All-SEC honors.  Joining College Football Hall of Fame quarterback and NFF Chairman Archie Manning in the backfield, Hindman holds the Ole Miss season record for average plays in a game with 21.5. Compiling a 3.73 GPA, he was named Academic All-America in 1968 and Academic All-SEC in 1967 and 1968. Following the Rebels’ 34-17 win over Virginia Tech in the 1968 Liberty Bowl, Hindman was named Outstanding Offensive Back. He rushed the ball for 121 yards and a touchdown in addition to catching three passes for 32 yards. Hindman also played in the Blue-Gray Classic. He finished his Ole Miss career with 361 carries for 1,344 yards and nine touchdowns and 33 catches for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Hindman received his medical degree from Mississippi as well, and is now a cardiologist in Jackson, Miss. He was inducted into the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
