A 1970 Academic All-American, Bob Parker shattered nearly every passing record at the Air Force Academy in just one season as the starting quarterback. He holds school records for pass attempts in a season (402), pass attempts in a game (55), pass attempts in a bowl game (46), pass completions in a season (199), pass completions in a bowl game (23), passing yards in a season (2,789), passing yards in a game (391), total offensive yards in a season (2,783), total offensive yards in a game (380), offensive plays in a season (442) and passing touchdowns in a season (21). Parker helped the Falcons to a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Sugar Bowl against then-No. 4 Tennessee. He was also a star in the classroom with a 3.76 GPA in engineering mechanics. In the summer prior to his senior year, he engaged in a special research project in dynamics at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida.
