Compiling a 3.8 GPA in electrical engineering, Mike McCoy was a two-time Academic All-America and All-Big 8 Selection. The 6-foot, 220-pound center played three seasons for the Jayhawks and participated in the Hula Bowl following his senior season. McCoy served as vice president of Eta Kappa Nu and was an honorary electrical engineering senior. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the Mayo School of Medicine. McCoy is now an orthopedic surgeon in Kansas.
