A two-time Academic All-American, defensive end Bob Homburg compiled a 3.93 GPA in physics at Air Force and was a member of the Dean’s List every semester. The recipient of the Air Force Scholar-Athlete Award, he recorded four semesters with a perfect 4.0 GPA and was in the top ten of his class every year of college. Homburg was a member of John Gardner’s Common Cause, spending a summer working with minority groups. During the summer of 1972, he performed a physics research project at an Air Force laboratory which garnered many accolades.

Homburg returned to his hometown of Madison, Wis., and earned his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin. After completing his internship and residency at the University of Washington, he began his practice in Fort Collins, Colo. Homburg served as chairman of the Department of Medicine Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, and he is a member of the Poudre Valley Hospital Medical Executive Board. Homburg has also been an assistant professor at the University of Colorado since 1996, teaching internal medicine to third-year medical students.
