Boasting a 3.64 GPA in biology at South Carolina, Bill Cregar won the team award for highest GPA as a senior. Originally a running back for the Gamecocks, he carried the ball 37 times for 155 yards as a sophomore and caught three passes for 12 yards and a touchdown. Cregar switched to linebacker in his junior year and recorded 164 tackles, ranking fourth in school history for total tackles in a season. He graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 1979 and has practiced in Sewell, N.J., for more than 35 years.
