Ralph Jackson

Compiling a 3.79 GPA as a pre-med major at New Mexico State, Ralph Jackson was a two-time First Team Academic All-America and Academic All-MVC selection. He was a four-year member of ROTC and held the rank of Cadet Captain. Jackson received the Academic Cadet Ribbon for outstanding leadership for three straight years and the Superior Cadet Award.

He graduated with a medical degree from the University of Florida in 1980 and completed his internship and residency at Emory University in Atlanta in 1980.

Jackson is board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. In 1982, he started as a staff physician in Emergency Medicine in Gwinnett and Fulton County (Ga.) and then became the Chief of Emergency Medicine with the Gwinnett Hospital Systems. In 1991, Jackson established New Horizons Internal Medicine. He is an active staff member of the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville and Duluth and Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Johns Creek, Ga. In 1992, he was inducted into the New Mexico State Sports Hall of Fame.
