A three-year starter for Ole Miss, Dick Lawrence established himself as an outstanding scholar-athlete. Co-captain of the 1974 Rebels, he received the John Howard Vaught Award of Excellence as the most outstanding senior scholar-athlete and the Jeff Hamm Memorial Award as the most improved defensive football player. In 1979, Lawrence earned his J.D. from Ole Miss and was admitted to the Mississippi Bar. He is currently a member of the Watkins & Eager law firm in Jackson, Miss.
