A star both athletically and academically at Nebraska, Vince Ferragamo was a First Team All-American and Academic All-American in 1976, helping the Cornhuskers to a 9-3-1 record and a Bluebonnet Bowl victory. The co-captain of the 1976 squad, he led a late comeback in the Bluebonnet Bowl to defeat Texas Tech 27-24. In two seasons as Nebraska’s signal-caller, he completed 237-of-412 passes for 34 touchdowns. Ferragamo ranks ninth in school history in single-season passing yards (2,071) and career passing yards (3,224). After leading the Cornhuskers to a 10-2 record and a Big 8 title in his junior season, he was named the Big 8 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

Ferragamo was selected in the fourth round (91st overall) of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams and played for the Rams from 1977-80, passing for 4,174 yards and 37 touchdowns. He helped the Rams to a 42-20 record, four postseason berths and an appearance in Super Bowl XIV. Ferragamo enjoyed his best statistical season in 1980, throwing for 30 touchdowns, tied for second most in the NFL. In 1981, Ferragamo played one season for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League before returning to Los Angeles. He passed for 5,202 yards and 33 touchdowns in his second stint for the Rams from 1982-84. He was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1980 and 1981. Ferragamo spent the final two seasons of his career with the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers. Ferragamo finished with 902-of-1615 passes completed for 11,336 yards and 76 touchdowns in 75 games.

He now owns Touchdown Real Estate in Orange County, Calif., and Ferragamo-Migneco Vineyards in Santa Maria, Ca. He is the chairman of the Vince Ferragamo Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that began in 1996 that focuses on raising donations for children's organizations such as the Special Olympics, the Speech and Language Development Center and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
