The son of Bill McColl, a College Football Hall of Fame defensive end at Stanford from 1949-51, Duncan McColl also starred as a defensive end for the Cardinal. He holds the school record for sacks in a season (17), ranks second in school history in tackles for loss in a season (26) and in a career (57), and 6th in career sacks (25). McColl is eighth in school history in career tackles (347) and led the team with 139 in 1975. A two-time All-American and All-Pac 8 selection, he was selected for the East-West Shrine Game and the Hula Bowl.

McColl was selected in the fourth round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Stanford in 1977 and an MBA from USC in 1980, McColl served as class president while earning a master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1995. He is currently an assistant pastor at Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church (Calif.). McColl is a member of the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame.
