Co-captain of the 1977 Georgia football team under College Football Hall of Fame coach Vince Dooley, Jeff Lewis led the team with two interceptions. A two-year starter at linebacker, he helped the Bulldogs to a 10-2 record, a SEC title and a Sugar Bowl berth in 1976. A First Team Academic All-America and Academic All-SEC selection, Lewis boasted a 3.92 GPA in political science and German.  A member of the Dean’s List every semester, he belonged to Blue Key and the Honors Council. Lewis received the Honors Program Junior and Senior Certificates of Achievement. He graduated summa cum laude from Georgia in 1978 and cum laude from the Georgia School of Law in 1982.

Lewis was a professional actor from 1985-92 and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. He served on the Board of Directors for the Southeast Playwrights' Project and the Georgia Shakespeare Festival. Lewis also served on the Vincent J. Dooley Library Endowment Fund Committee at the Georgia and participated in Leadership Georgia. He is a panelist on the "Neil 'Hondo' Williamson and The Georgia Bulldog Allstars" radio program.

Lewis is currently a partner in the Business Litigation Practice for Arnall Golden Gregory in Atlanta. He has been listed as a Georgia Super Lawyer since 2004 and was a top-rated lawyer in business litigation from 2012-14.
