A co-captain of the 1978 Missouri football team, linebacker Chris Garlich helped the Tigers to an 8-4 mark and a 20-15 victory over LSU in the Liberty Bowl. He was named National Defensive Player of the Week in 1976 after Missouri stunned No. 2 Ohio State on the road and again in 1978 after the Tigers shocked No. 5 Notre Dame on the road. Garlich ranks 22nd in school history with 276 total tackles. A two-time Academic All-American and three-time Academic All-Big 8 selection, he compiled a 3.59 GPA in business administration and made the Dean’s Honor Roll six semesters. Garlich played one season with the St. Louis Cardinals of the NFL.

Garlich serves as an executive vice president of BanCorp. Services, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. He has been on the Board of Trustees of Maxus Realty Trust Inc., since 1999 and has been Director of Semafore Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2004. Garlich was inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002.
