A four-year letterman at Arizona State, offensive lineman Chris Mott helped the Sun Devils to a 34-13 record, two WAC titles and two bowl victories under College Football Hall of Fame head coach Frank Kush. An Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 selection, he also participated in the Japan Bowl. Boasting a 3.44 GPA in English, Mott was a 1977 Academic All-WAC selection and Arizona State Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He received his Ph.D. in English from UCLA in 1991 and is currently a senior continuing lecturer in the department of English at UCLA. Mott is an honorary member of the Golden Key International Honor Society at UCLA, and he received the Distinguished Lecturer Award in 1995.
